Peter Lawrence Boyle was born on October 18, 1935 in Norristown, Pennsylvania and died on December 12, 2006. He was an Emmy Award-winning American actor.
Before becoming an actor, Boyle was a monk of the Christian Brothers order. He is best known for his comedic roles, such as the monster from Young Frankenstein and Ray Romano's father, Frank Barone, from Everybody Loves Raymond.
In 1968, Boyle made his debut on the big screen in The Virgin President. He also appeared as a philosophical cabbie in 1976's Taxi Driver and, more recently, put in a chilling performance as the executioner in 2001's Monster's Ball.

Boyle married journalist Lorraine Alterman in 1977. He died December 12, 2006 after battling multiple myeloma and heart disease.
